How to Restore Missing Windows After Switching from Dual Monitors to a Single Display

When switching from a dual-monitor setup to a single screen, some application windows may remain "hidden" on the disconnected secondary display. Here are two easy ways to bring them back:

Method 1: Use Keyboard Shortcuts to Move the Window

  1. Open the invisible program but don’t click anything.
  2. Press Alt + Space, then press M (stands for "Move").
  3. Use the arrow keys (typically left or right) to shift the window back to the visible area.
  4. After a few seconds, the window should reappear on your main screen.
  5. Confirm by clicking or pressing Enter.

Method 2: Use Win + P to Reset Display Mode

  1. Press Win + P to open the projection menu.
  2. First select Extend, then switch to PC screen only.
  3. This will force all windows to relocate to the main display.
